Recording for Porn of My Kid began in November 2008 with the recording of "Never Know What to Say," then called MillionXMillion, and went through until December 2009 upon the recording of "Ghost Virgin, Ghost Whore." The album is implicitly about a breakup, and explicitly about porn. The range of styles seen throughout are influenced primarily by The Dandy Warhols, Beck, Elliott Smith, Pavement, and Beulah. I grew up listening to the Beatles, and it is my constant effort to try to not sound like them, though I still have so much trouble with that. I was born in Maine, lived in North Carolina for the better parts of my life, and currently live in Montreal. I do all of the work in making these songs by myself, but I love the company of other people. No matter what anyone says music is made to be enjoyed, and you have failed if people don’t like it. I make music for myself but have only continued to make it on the insistence of those around me.

The range of styles seen throughout are influenced primarily by The Dandy Warhols, Beck, Elliott Smith, Pavement, and Beulah. It is a testament to the indie rock of the 90’s while still being reminiscent of most of the contemporary, guitar-driven rock and roll being made today. The album was recorded in the room above my garage, and a lot of my attitudes and feelings towards Wilmington, NC bleed through into the music.
